With his many years of experience as a garden designer Simon strongly believes gardens should be thought about in their whole entity, not as parts. He says its like planning the interior design of a room – you look at it as a whole rather than in sections.
Simon's biggest inspiration is Gertrude Jekyll and her designs which capture the essence of English gentrification. He loves the fact that her designs were simple yet there was a free flow of colour without any formality. This is Simon's preferred style of planting as it creates a more relaxed environment.

About Paul Guppy
Paul's passion for wildlife and the natural landscape has always been a driving force. This connection with nature evolved into a keen interest in garden design during his university years. What began as a summer job assisting landscapers for a garden designer quickly turned into a full-fledged career. Upon completing his degree, Paul joined Woodhams Landscapes as a junior designer, where he had the opportunity to work under the guidance of the esteemed Stephen Woodhams.
Paul draws inspiration from a wide array of sources, constantly seeking fresh ideas from nature, architecture, interior design, and furniture design. His early influences include renowned designers such as Piet Oudolf and Christopher Bradley-Hole, whose work continues to shape his approach to garden design.
Two moments stand out as the proudest in Paul's career: winning a Gold Medal and the Organisers' Award for Best Garden at the Losley Great Gardening Show, his first independent show garden; and designing a garden for the BBC show Small Town Gardens while working with Stephen Woodhams. Despite these achievements, Paul believes that his greatest successes lie ahead as he continues to contribute to the team at Transform Landscapes.
About Abbey Tate-Grimes
Abbey is a talented designer who graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Computer-Aided Design from the University of Winchester in 2021. During her studies, she honed her skills in various CAD techniques and programmes, setting the foundation for her expertise in CAD plans and 3D design. As the youngest designer on the team, Abbey brings a fresh perspective and innovative approach to every project.
Growing up with a landscaper for a father, Abbey was surrounded by gardens and plants from a young age, sparking her passion for design. Her university dissertation explored the balance between hand-drawn and CAD-based garden designs, concluding that clients appreciate a blend of both for their creativity and clarity.
Abbey's proudest achievements to date include having one of her garden designs nominated for a 2024 APL award, where it won Silver, and designing Transform’s 2024 show garden for the Goodwood Revival. Her interest in ponds and aquatic wildlife, nurtured by over five years of experience working with fish and aquariums, further enriches her designs. Abbey’s unique combination of skills, creativity, and passion makes her an invaluable member of the Transform Landscapes team.
